GIVING BACK
Timpots Legacy Foundation is being created to Give Back
We did not start this journey with a mission statement.
We started it with a memory.
The memory of our Legend and all the Teachers who selflessly dedicated their entire lives for Timpany.
Memory of Diamond Park at 7:15 AM, when the dew was still on the grass and our socks got wet before first period.
The memory of Mrs Hilda Samuel’s house on the left, where the smell of baking would stop us mid-run.
The memory of the cross road where we learned to look both ways, and the abattoir turn where we learned not everything in life smells good.
The memory of the Timpany back gate, and the 100 step scamper when the bell betrayed us for being late again.
We were raised on those few kilometers stretch from Home to Timpany. Raised by teachers who knew our fathers’ and Mothers' names. Raised by friends who shared tiffins, secrets, and detentions. Raised by a school that did not just teach us math and grammar. It taught us to stand up when an elder walked in out of respect. To cheer louder for the kid who came last. To never let a classmate sit alone at lunch.
Then life happened .
Some of us left Vizag. Some of us lost parents. Some of us watched our own children fight battles we never imagined, in hospital rooms that smelled like steel and fear. LIFE HAS GOT TO US AND SILENCED OUR VOICES AND BROKEN OUR HEARTS IN MANY WAYS.
Then one day we looked around.. and found ourselves in this TIMPOTS WhatsApp group and realized something: we had all grown up, but we had not grown apart. The boy who copied my homework was now wiring money at midnight for a batchmate’s surgery. The girl who we teased for crying during prayer was now organizing blood donors for a teacher’s husband.
That is when we knew. Timpots Legacy Foundation was created to Give Back.
Not because we are rich. Many of us are not.
Not because we have time. None of us do.
BECAUSE PEOPLE IN OUR LIVES MATTER OVER EVERYTHING ELSE. NOT MONEY OR MATERIAL POSSESSIONS.
Give Back is not charity for us. It is rent. It is the rent we owe for a childhood that felt safe. For the Neptune senior Hazari who walked us home when it rained. For the school peon who opened the back gate two minutes late and saved us from a red mark. For the laughter we had jumping over grass that we now realize was pure, unearned grace.
So this Foundation exists for those who cannot pay their child’s school fees this year. For the retired teachers whose pension does not cover medicines. Children like Keya and every child like her, teach us that life is too bloody short to wipe tears all the time and spend cribbing about what's NOT RIGHT or NOT WORKING.
We give back because Timpany first gave to us.
We give back because when there is love and kindness, there is light. There is abundance of everything. We give back because the only thing we eventually narrowed our lives down to is this: Live for Everyone we can and keep them all along with ourselves Happy because...
LIFE IS TOO DAMN SHORT FOR ANYTHING ELSE.
The back gate is still there. We are not late anymore. We are just finally on time for the people who matter and need us.
This is our spine. This is our legacy.
Forever Timpots. Forever Connected. Forever Kind.
